Online visits are available without an appointment for any of the following concerns:

You must be in Minnesota at the time of visit.  We are unable to provide online care for patients outside of the state.

Online Visit Instructions:

• Available from 8am to 8pm, daily, no appointment necessary
• You must create a new account to get started, then click Start New Visit
  • If you are a parent registering a child under 18, you must first create an account for yourself and then click “Add Child”
• Each child, spouse or family member over 18 must create their own account.
• Answer a few quick questions and click “Start New Visit” and a clinician will be with you shortly.
  • Patients will be seen in the order received.

Online Care Guidelines & After Visit Instructions:

• You must be in Minnesota at the time of the video visit.
• Minors under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when presenting to The Urgency Room.
• Results are stored within the app shortly after you've been tested.

What to Expect

Once you have successfully logged in and clicked Start Visit, you’ll be placed in the virtual waiting room. One of our providers will see you as quickly as possible, you'll receive a text message as soon as they are ready to see you.  If your visit requires any additional testing or evaluation you will be instructed to visit one of our clinics.  We'll be waiting for you.

If you need more care than we can give you in a telemedicine visit, we’ll get you into The Urgency Room as quickly as possible to continue your visit in person.

Here’s how to make sure you get the care you need:

Allow any popups that ask you for access to your camera and microphone

Use a device with a camera and microphone — a computer is preferred

Switch to wifi instead of cellular service if you're on a smartphone or tablet

If your telehealth visit is disrupted by a technical difficulty, you may receive a phone call from our staff. Please answer your phone if you’re disconnected.

Should I Seek an Online Visit or Should I Go In?  

Thanks to technological advances, attending your health care visit in person is not always necessary. Of course, there are times when a health condition requires further attention—such as testing or more extensive examinations—that a video visit simply cannot deliver. 

You’ll want to head in for an in-person visit for the following reasons: 

• You need a test administered that requires blood drawn
• Your symptoms are severe
• You require treatment for infections 
• You require x-ray testing or CT scans 

Telemedicine is typically used to assess mild symptoms or cases where the individual is relatively stable. 

If you’re not experiencing serious symptoms but you’re still unsure whether a telehealth visit is right for you, why not give it a try? Your medical professional will let you know if it’s time to come in.
