The Urgency Room and EPPA

The Urgency Room is owned and operated by Emergency Physicians Professional Association (EPPA). Since 1969, the emergency physicians of EPPA have continuously provided the highest level of emergency care within many Twin Cities’ hospital emergency departments. The physicians and clinicians of EPPA were the first in the Midwest to bring The Urgency Room and the concept of providing emergency medicine outside of the hospital to Minnesota. Not that anyone should like going to the Dr but this place is fantastic. Great receptionist, nurses and doctors. My daughter who had relapsed and wasn't feeling well got in right away with attentive care. They even took time to ask if I was Ok, as the parent. I was not only impressed with how fast things went but the attention to detail. Thanks for literally treating our family with TLC.

I had an amazing visit at UR Woodbury. The week started with a trip to Minute Clinic for meds for a sinus infection. When I continued to decline over the weekend, I knew a trip to UR was in my best interest. Didn’t even have to sit in the waiting room, was brought right back to a room and seen immediately. They ran lab work & a CT Scan and made the diagnosis of pneumonia. Received IV antibiotics and was sent on my way with the prescription. Thank goodness for the comprehensive care because finally 2 weeks later I’m on the mend! Your team took great care of me!

Let me just say this, It was mid morning when I was hit by intense back and side pain. Nothing I did made any difference to the pain level, now at 10+. A call to my clinic begging for somebody to do something. We all kind of thought what it was and they told me I had 2 choices, the emergency room or The Urgency Room. My wife and I decided on the ladder, it was closer and maybe less busy. Off we went, and I think my wife hit every pothole between Shoreview and Vadnais Heights. Upon arrival we walked into the lobby and I thought, where is everybody. Within minutes, I was checked in, checked over, blood drawn and I was on the way for a cat scan. Sure enough we were correct in that a kidney stone half the size of a pin head was holding a sign that read “I may be small but I am powerful”. Truly, in a little over an hour, the drugs were working and I was going to live another day thanks to The Urgency Room and its staff.

My physician was fantastic…kept me informed about everything he was doing and had a great personality…made it a very human experience.

Over the holidays my 4 YO was sick and my 6 YO had a head collision at a play area that same day. My intentions were for my son to be seen for his head at UR and was then to go elsewhere for my daughter. Silly me, everywhere else ended up being closed so we went back to UR for a rapid test (positive). The team there got a kick out of seeing us twice in 5 minutes! Again, great service for both kiddos!

What a great experience! It was my first time using an urgency room. All I can say is that I am soooooo happy I did not go to the emergency room! From the receptionist, to the nurse and then the medical doctor... they were all so amazing and considerate. One of the best bedside manners I've experienced in ages. Not only that - they were fast!!!! I did not even have a wait !!!! & waited shortly for doctor. The discharge was incredibly fast. At an emergency room..it's like hours... I will never go to an emergency room again unless I don't have a choice. Thank you everyone at UR!

Took my 84 year old mom into the eagan UR last Monday night. From the moment we walked into the building the staff was so attentive and kind. We had virtually no wait before being escorted into an exam room. The doctors and medical staff listened, ran tests and diagnosed the situation. We were out of there in just over an hour with prescription and medical directions in hand. So glad we made the decision to go to the UR instead of urgent care!!
